[unittest] remove crash handling APIs All clients have been switched over to use ExceptionHandler instead so we can remove the port-based crash handling from unittest. This required re-implementing the death test functionality since it relied on the crash handler, but it's reasonably straightforward and tests have been added to make sure it still works as expected.
