Non-filename characters actually don\u0027t cause\nany issue in CDash at all, nor are they invalid XML.  The only place\nwhere removing them may be needed is when an actual filename is\nconstructed.\n\nRemove the filtering from the SafeBuildIdField function and place\nit where a filename is constructed.\n",
